RE PHANTOM IO EX.

We thank you for the wood and aluminum which has now reached us safely. I have hopes of making the model during the holiday.

We are glad to read your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG20.12.26.

With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/T18.12.26. we would point out that the existing scuttle somewhat controls the screen position relative to the driver. By having a "V" type screen with a 30 degree lean from the vertical we hope to get tha sceen to within 2.000ins. of the wheel at the nearest point. We believe that our drawings shew this. On the actual car we may be able to do better.

It was originally intended to let Barkers fit the headlights. If however you would like to do so we suggest that you should. If you let me know that you are doing so I will arrange to have that item taken off the estimate given by Barkers. It will help if we can keep the cost of this car at a minimum and the work as little in the limelight as possible. N.Sch.2252,aprint of which can be had from BY, shews the position of the lamps and the proposed mothod of carrying them. At the moment we do not intend to make them to dip as they are supposed to be anti-dazzle and have a dazzle and fog shade control. We might like to later adapt them to our dipping scheme. The lamps would not be carried on the wings in that case as the wings are not suitable.

We will discuss the question of fitting a revolution counter with E shortly.

In order not to put up the cost we will not ask for a rear screen at the moment but before the job is completed we will ask for one to be fitted.
