Radiator Matrix.

W.W.Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/S00)

In answer to your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.12/AP.26.4.37, I am afraid that our people were a little premature in writing you concerning the above.

It is quite true that this customer complained of bad overheating when driving slowly in congested traffic in the City.

Our Shop made certain that the matrix was Mk.Vl{V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} and then wrote to you without going further into the matter.

We carried out a lot of work on this chassis, and in the course of same the radiator was tested for clear etc. and was found to be right up to standard.

On test, after our general work, it was found that the cooling was quite satisfactory, although with an extended slow speed run the temperature rose to 90°.

Everything else in the way of radiator thermostat, water pump etc. was checked, and we eventually allowed the car to go, with an explanation to the chauffeur that the water cooling was quite up to standard, and he was reassured.

Will you please therefore let this matter close, and we will immediately notify you should we at any time find trouble where a Mk.Vl{V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} matrix is fitted.
