20-HP. Chassis No.71-A-8. - J.P. Chettle Esq.

The side steering tube of this car has broken near the middle. We have no record of an accident which could possibly have effected the side steering tube.

We would call your attention to the fact that this is the third case we know of in which a 20-HP. side steering tube has broken.

We have no records of this car having suffered from steering wobbles, and we regard the matter as extremely serious.

Up to April last, this car had covered 25,000 miles, and was delivered in August 1923.

With regard to customer's letter of the 1st.inst., will D {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /L. please note that the accident which the car met with while in our hands was of a very minor nature, the only damage being done to the paint of the front mudguard and slight scratches on the hub cap. We say without hesitation that this could not have in any way been responsible for the failure of the side steering tube, and we can inform customer that the matter is being most thoroughly investigated.

We attach copies of customer's letter and Mr. Shaw's report on the slight accident.
