Re. John Hopkins Esq., Chassis 154-BW.
----------------------------

With reference to your memo BJ/Py20/D30.5.22, we have discussed this matter with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} with regard to the last paragraph of the report from A, reference A31/H29.5.22.

There is no question of a scheme being incorporated which will cut out the charging of the batteries when they are sufficiently charged, which we take it is what is referred to. We do not think the trouble was due to overcharging.

With regard to the question of the charge of £10 made by the Chloride Co. for attention to this customer's batteries - we think this should be taken up with the Chloride Co. and they should be asked to give an explanation as to why this charge has been made.

We have taken similar action in previous cases and it has always resulted in either the withdrawal of the charge or a considerable reduction, according to the facts of the case.

Do you wish this matter to be dealt with by London or shall we now take it over? If you wish us to deal with the matter it will be necessary for us to get hold of the invoice in question and any correspondence which Mr. Hopkins had with the Chloride Co. or if the transaction between Mr. Hopkins and the Chloride Co. was a verbal one, we should ask Mr. Hopkins to give us details of his dealings with the Chloride people, to enable us to take the matter up with them.
