For the attention of Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Fowler Clark.

Dear Sirs,

In reply to your letter, reference EFCI/T of the 19th inst., the nominal thickness of the ebonite separators in the cell which we have the pleasure of supplying to you is 1/64", but we allow tolerance to the manufacturers between the limits of .019" maximum and .012" minimum. Actually the bulk of the ebonite sheet is approximately .017". We have not varied the thickness at any time.

We note that a standard "Exide" battery running 10,000 miles is available for inspection, and the writer will be very pleased to examine this on his proposed visit on the 26th inst.

Yours faithfully,

THE CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO.LTD.

E C Mackinnon
Chief Engineer.

Note by E.F.C.
.019" = .48 mm
.017" = .43 mm
.012 = .305 mm
