X.3533 - GOSHAWK DYNAMO.

----

Will you kindly note I have an instruction from Mr. Royce to the effect that we should abandon work on vibrator regulator control for the moment and concentrate on making up or obtaining from outside dynamos controlled by the method of the single third brush and single field winding. This I shall have to go into as regards our 40/50 chassis dynamo and the Goshawk dynamo with Mr. Day's Dept. For the present most of the work on these simple shunt wound machines should be put in abeyance as certain modifications will have to be made to make these suitable for third brush control. The armatures, however, will be apparently unaltered and might be proceeded with.

I may possibly be seeing Mr. Royce next Monday when I hope we shall perhaps be able to arrange something definite. Mr. Royce has asked me to obtain particulars of other makers' dynamos controlled on the third brush and single field winding system with a view possibly to using such dynamos for the 40/50 and Goshawk chassis.
