PHANTOM 2. SHOCK DAMPERS.

We send herewith N. scheme 2994. shewing the con. rod for the rear shock damper with balanced spring control on the balls, the object being to round off the corners of the diagram.

This differs from previous schemes of this kind principally by the undamped movement having been reduced. With the stronger spring it is only .030".

We send also N. sch. 2995. shewing the application of the same con. rod to the 20HP. rear damper.

It will be noticed that on the Phantom 2. arrangement the clearance under the bottom of the con. rod joint is the same as on Phantom 1. Should it be found possible to reduce the free movement this could be still further reduced.

We suggest that the rod should not at the moment be fitted to the front 20HP. dampers.
