P.2. EXHAUST SYSTEM

As the aluminium exhaust boxes have failed and yet are of a pattern which is desirable I suggest we try these in cast iron, but if it is thought they will not be strong enough in some respects they may be modified or made in some iron casting stronger or tougher than the usual iron casting.

I suggest cast iron with nickel, semi steel, malleable, might be examined as alternatives. The extra weight, though undesirable, may not be prohibitive.

It is assumed that aluminium is hopeless as the temperature even for T.50. alloy is too high for the strength to be maintained, according to reports.
