Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EVL/10.5.30. contd. -3- Lighting with pillar lamps is out of date. We would suggest, Faint flood lighting of the instruments of a green hue and only just enough to be able to see the dials. A powerful lamp under the scuttle rail for lighting up the front of the compartment generally for map reading etc. The flood light should come from within the thickness of the board. We are working at this. ____________ This above applies to cars for R.R.A.I. in general, but there is still the second L.H. S.S. to be dealt with. We want to be assured that (a) It is agreed to fit exactly what instruments, English or American. If American is the drawing of that instrument which we have here the same as the instrument we shall receive. ____________ We would be very glad if some definite ruling could be given, not in general, but on all the cardinal points raised herein.
