To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X180 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG5.7.28 EXPERIMENTAL CARS. X180 X8774 With reference to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}6/T4.7.28. Referring to BJ's query as to what is being done about making 10-EX into a speed car to R's instructions. This was evidently taken from the quarterly list of experimental cars. This wording should have been altered, but it has been carried on since the days when there was an interest in speed cars. At the present time 10-EX is being used continually on steering tests. It is invaluable as an experimental car because it enables speeds that are obtained by the standard car on the Continent, to be reproduced on English roads with the minimum danger to the testers. It is an excellent car on which to test the suspension for the same reason. No work is being carried out to develop this car as a speed car. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
