X46175. E.Y.C. J.D.8. 20-6-29 X46175 Re Failure of P&R cell in SX Battery (159) No 1 cell has failed in SX battery after having ran 13,787 miles & been on our bench life test 16 months. The negative plates & wood & ebonite separators were good. The positive plates were very weak mechanically but had lost very little active material. The depth of sediment only being 1/4". The cause of failure was due to the stretching of the positive plates shorting on the negative bus bar. gH. | ||
