VALVE COVER FIXING. X. 8060.

We send you herewith drawing No.Lec.1930 dealing with a modification to the above.

This modification arose out of the difficulty experienced down here in lifting the valve gear cover from the engine.

It was decided to revert to the practice of fixing the nuts in the cover so as to facilitate lifting, but to make sufficient allowance of stroke so that each nut could be screwed right off before the cover began to lift. Lec.1930 shews the alteration for this purpose.

Mr. Royce has not passed this drawing yet but we think there is no risk in proceeding with the work, and we will let you have any criticisms he may make in due course.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
