To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SECRET. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG10.11.24.

With reference to the attached note from CJ.

We have had 93-NK car running on the road for several days. We are not however satisfied that it is sufficiently good to be put up to Sales.

For absence of vibrations up to 30 m.p.h., it is not as good as a standard 40/50 HP.

There are being made some still lower compress- ion pistons. It will be a week or 10 days before they are ready.

In the meantime there are other faults on the chassis to be overcome - such as - noisy exhaust - heavy steering and electrical faults.

Before we get the lower compression pistons, it is our intention to take the car to WW. in order to demon- strate to R.{Sir Henry Royce} the faults with the new EAC. electrical equipment.

We do not think it is any use sending it to Sales yet.

We understand that PN.{Mr Northey} is coming to Derby in the middle of this week. We propose taking the opportunity whilst he is here of getting him to confrim that the vibrations are such that Sales cannot accept the car.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
