R.R. 225A (100 T) (S.H. 798. 10-12-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2947 To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to E.O. X.3593 Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}12/CB7.3.21. (Replaced by Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}11/CB17.3.21) X.4136 X.3593 RE GOSHAWK 1 CLUTCH & BRAKE PEDALS. We send you herewith a print of "N" scheme 780 shewing the above pedal gear made along the lines of the design for Goshawk 11, which we understood to be your intention from Rl/G15.2.21. With reference to your Rl/G15.2.21 we should like to say that we had noticed the 3/8" bolt on our schemes 737 and 751, and should have altered them before we sent them to you, except for the fact that the levers were already in existence, having been made to a design made a considerable while ago. The same remark applies to the clutch operating shaft mounted on spherical bearings, and which we also left because it was in existence, but it appeared to be more expensive to change it than to leave it as it was. On "N" scheme 780 we have, however, modifed both these points in accordance with what we understand to be your wishes, and new pieces can be made or not, as you wish.
