TESTS ON THE PAULIN CAR IN FRANCE. This is to confirm that you will leave for France on Tuesday of next week, the 3rd January in order to check over the Paulin car at Montlhéry to see that it gives the best impression with the large carburetter, high compression pistons and cold air intake. For these tests the car can, of course, be run without a fan. The parts should be sent over by Air Mail as soon as they are available, and they should include the Le Mans head complete though it may not be necessary to use this. You will also require suitable plugs and big wheels with racing tyres, which will be supplied by Gry. {Shadwell Grylls} The figures which it is hoped to attain are:- (1) 100 m.p.h. for 100 kilometers. (2) A flying kilometer under favourable conditions at maximum speed. (3) A petrol consumption over a pre-determined distance at an average speed of 100 kilometers per hour. When you have had the car on the track, established the fact that the best possible results have been achieved from the parts available, we should like to ring up and let us know what the figures are. We anticipate that you will have a week to work on the car from the time you get out there. Swdl. {Len H.
