GJ4/224.2.21.

Pending the preparation of much log sheets temporary log sheets should be provided by Mr. DeLoose so far as Derby is concerned; by Mr. Cowen so far as the London Establishments are concerned. These should be numbered consecutively and should be handed to the door keepers with instructions that none of the Company's cars are to be permitted to leave the building without the issue to the driver of a log sheet for each journey.

The log sheet should state the number of the car; the name of the official who is responsible for the car being used; the name of the driver; the date and a note to the effect that the driver is required to state the place at which the journey commences, the hour at which it commences, the hour of its return to the Company's premises, total mileage, and a description of each stopping place, each address or place at which the car stopped and the duration of the stop.

Mr. DeLoose and Mr. Cowen will consult as to the preparation of suitable printed log sheets.

The reason for the sheets being numbered is to secure that the Accountants Dept. receives every log sheet issued and the Accountants Dept. will satisfy themselves in this respect.

Mr. Cowen at the next conference at Derby will submit figures on which the mileage charge is based.
