(c) With std. silencer check for detonations at T.D.C. setting with Redline, Shell and Ethyl, also complete speed range of automatic advance degrees.
(d) Oil consumption at 4000 R.P.M. for 1 hr., if O.K. do not repeat, i.e. under 2 pts/hr,
(e) Timing gears to be quiet before unit is passed off.
(f) Unit to be tuned up, noise and leaks etc. before being passed off.

WRAITH III NO.9 UNIT.

The unit is being overhauled and will include following new parts:-

(a) AC.9 die cast big end bearings.
(b) Large balance in front web of sump.
(c) Flexible flywheel.

After running in crank oscillation diagrams to be taken it is probable that several types of flywheel will be fitted for comparison.

When above are completed the indicator drive shaft to be removed and unit tested similar to Wraith III No.7 preparatory to being fitted in 29.G.VI.

OLDSMOBILE.

Following No. 7 and 9 Wraith units the above is to be fitted above which details will be given in next memo.

NO.2 TEST HOUSE.

SINGLE CYLINDER.

Cylinder heads will be ready in several days time to compare ramp head with flat top piston against ramp head with raised crown piston (both at 7.3 : 1 C.R.)
Compare for power and detonation.
