With regard to the tests which are being carried out comparing Delco and Rolls-Royce distributors, we think it is important that with each distributor the timing should be accurately checked on all six cylinders so that the variation between cam contours is established. At the same time, an average variation obtained on the Delco and Rolls-Royce should be measured to find out which holds the finest limits. As a further check we should like the two distributors to be run on an engine, and the ignition advance curve checked by means of a spark and a quadrant at the front of the engine. Obviously this would ascertain that the governor characteristics are the same under engine conditions. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
