45840 To H.C. HE/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/KW. 7.9.34. 21-G-IV. Will you please carry out the following work on this car in accordance with our conversation :- (1) Fit the La{L. A. Archer} Salle steering. (2) Lead bronze big ends. (3) Larger oil pump which you prepared for Hall's car. (4) New servo lining, material to be supplied by Hardy. (5) Fit Bentley tappet springs. (6) Strip clutch for examination. Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} will specify the necessary alterations. One essential alteration will be for the spline bearing to be in gun metal. (7) Centre manifold studs to be made in KE.965 without waists in the centre. (8) Front engine links to have hardened pins and bushes. (9) Correct spring loaded link to be fitted between the cantilever pedal shaft and the gearbox. (10) Drilled up connecting rods with oil holes for improved lubrication. Matthews will supply the position and size of these. (11) Modification to spare wheel carrier brackets inside the frame to prevent fracture. (12) Synchromesh anti-rattle device in gearbox. | ||
