(2) You will see the off-set idea - Height according to convenience of spring, lower pressures generally more shallow. Valve would be rather larger in diameter than the seat. Joint would be any convenient height to give stiffness to top & bottom sections: naturally better at level of valve face. Small stem & small hole through upper guide plate. I hope & expect no tail guide will be needed or desired. I prefer non-adjustable springs. Valve face raised safely above lower guide spring, giving free egress of oil. Not a RR. ideal shape but gives you the idea of economy of space. If your arrangement of valve is better than my suggestion, then go ahead with test set, but between the two you may get a still better. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
