DAILY REPORT. Paulin Bentley II.- B-27-LE. Montlhéry. 5.50 x I8" Dunlop tyres fitted at 45 lbs/sq" both front & rear. Vertical open down pipe from exhaust manifold fitted. Cold air taken from front of radiator at right angle to chassis and led into front end of air silencer I" deep. Oil thermometer failed during journey to track. Thermometer from air silencer fitted to oil pipe at Montlhéry. (Under bonnet temperature approximately 25/30°c). Ice and snow on both bankings. Best lap speed 169.255 K.P.H. 105.17 M.P.H. 8 laps. Oil temperature 122°c 6.50 x I9" Dunlop tyres fitted at 45 lbs/sq" to rear. Fan belt replaced. Best lap speed 172.437 K.P.H. 107.19 M.P.H. 9 laps. Oil temp. 118°c Water " 82°c Air " 19°c Oil pressure 22 lbs/sq" Track conditions considered by Sr. good enough for an hour non stop run. Fan belt still retained and thermostat in water system taken out. Oil in sump increased to I.3/4 gallons. Exhaust and cold air pipe retained as at start. Fuel checked at 75 litres on gauge. | ||
