Bensport - Brake Adjustment.

Herewith is N. Sch. 3822 shewing modifications to the brake adjustment, principally in order to deal with RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}'s remarks in RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}1/BK.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager}5.9.33

(1) The keyway is run out and the key prevented from coming out, so enabling unit assembly.

(2) The stop has been made adjustable and increased in area. In order to do this some length has been saved on the screw spindle by rocking the driven lever a little nearer the driver. This has an additional advantage in giving a little more clearance with the pull rod on the rear brake.

(3) The slots have been made of the same width on both sides of the lever boss, so removing the shoulder, complained of, and the position of the slots has been adjusted to equalise the clearance at both ends of the adjustment.
