Phantom III - Main Lever Housings on Front Suspension - SEC.7042.
----------------

Regarding the suggestion of producing the above piece in aluminium instead of mild steel forgings, as at present, we have investigated this and if adopted we estimate a saving in factory cost of approximately £4. 0. 0. per chassis set of two housings.

We have viewed the aluminium housings as being produced from die castings with sand cores and have not allowed for any internal machining in the main spring housing, other than of course on the internal locating diameters.

The estimated cost of the die is £115. 0. 0., assuming one die will produce a casting which will make either hand.
