YOUR REF. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}9/JH. Experimental Department. DATE 21st January 1939. Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 17th inst., in which you enclosed a copy of a letter addressed to Messrs Lea and Servais Ltd., and are deeply concerned by the discourteous and unsatisfactory treatment you have received from these people. We should like to point out that Messrs Lea and Servais Ltd., have never had any connection with the firm of Servais Silencers Ltd., but in November of last year they pressed us to allow them to represent us in certain directions, and it was under this arrangement that they constructed and forwarded to you the silencer which has now failed after 10,000 miles running. They have now ceased to represent us in any way at all. The writer would be glad of the opportunity of calling upon you at Derby at any time convenient to you, and hopes to be able to show you the Servais silencer in a more satisfactory light. We are, Yours faithfully, Servais Silencers Limited. F.L.Green Director. | ||
