LOW RATING SUSPENSION FOR 20 HP.

X.4429.

The preliminary specification for the low rating spring to 20 HP. cars follows the modification we have made to the Phantom II. to suit the American market. The front springs have 50% more initial deflection than standard, the rear springs 25% more deflection than standard. This gives a spring specification of -

Front, 3.375" positive camber free, loaded camber flat.

Rear, initial 5.9" positive, loaded camber .5" neg.

The poundages suitable for the maximum capacity weighing 35¾ cwts empty, would be, rear 1050 lbs., front 680 lbs. An alternative front spring which gives better riding but requires further testing before reliability is established, has an initial camber of 4.5", and loaded camber of .5" positive, thereby giving .4" normal deflection.
