FINISH OF BENTLEY UNIT.

In case there is any argument as to the finish of the unit inspected by Sales, we give below the specification as supplied by RRC.

CYLINDERS.
Rocker cover black enamelled except on the beading round the joint face and the word 'Bentley' which were polished. The beading was flattened slightly so as to give a polished band approx. .200" wide.

Rocker and tappet covers were fitted with notched thumb nuts to Lec.3551, chromium plated, but we understood from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that he preferred the standard type on the grounds of cost, and also that the shape does not lend itself to satisfactory plating.

External cylinder holding down nuts nickel deposited.

INLET PIPES, CARBURETTERS, AIR SILENCER, WATER PUMP, OIL PUMP, THERMOSTAT, A FAN.
Black enamelled.

CRANKCASE, WHEELCASE, PETROL PUMP, IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR, OIL FILLER.
Scratch brushed.

CONTROLS.
All controls black enamelled with the exception of throttle coupling shaft between carburetters, which was nickel deposited.

WATER PIPES, OIL PIPES & FITTINGS.
Nickel deposited.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD.
Tape polished.
