TO B.I. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RECEIVED 8 JUL 1927 ORIGINAL R2/M5.7.27. X55 X5260 X8260 X1085 PHANTOM & GOSHAWK SHUTTERS. I certainly agree to deleting the rear shutters, also that we do not in future fit bonnet louvres. You will remember that I was seeking for improved appearance principally (extraordinarily important.) It would at the same time save money and confusion - i.e. complication of the business. Making all to the same pattern reduces the cost so very much. I was so pleased to see how improved is the Phantom compared with the Silver Ghost, principally by increased height of radiator, and vertical radiator shutters. Years ago there were many complaints of the cost of the Silver Ghost, but it was not an expensive engine for its size. We could not have gone on without a move. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
