THE MOTOR issues for November have shown road tests of a large number of interesting new models, these being as follows:-

November 1. Standard Eight
November 8. Two-litre Triumph
November 22. Standard Twelve
Mercedes Type 170V Saloon
November 29. Hillman Minx
3½-litre Delahaye

Apart from these, one of the main points, possibly the main point, on which interest has been concentrated has been the possibility of developing a British team of Grand Prix racing cars. An article outlining the main reason for doing so, entitled "Building a British Racing Car to Beat the World", appeared in our issue of November 22 and has been followed by numerous contributions from eminent technicians agreeing that we have all the engineering resources in this country to carry out the project if the finance was available.

It is our plea that this matter of building racing cars is not one which can be judged solely from the engineering and commercial aspect. It is almost
