X4288 THE Chloride ELECTRICAL STORAGE COMPANY LIMITED. LONDON OFFICE. 57. VICTORIA STREET. S.W. CLIFTON JUNCTION NR MANCHESTER. OUR REFERENCE ECM/LB. 5th September, 1921. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, X4288, re 6 BXE.5 Batteries - Present Standard with Modifications. We beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter, Ref.EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/7., dated August 30th., reporting the omission of separators in one of the three experimental batteries received from us for test and approval for standardisation. We cannot sufficiently express our regret that this mistake should have been made. The error is unpardonable, and our General Manager has dealt with the matter drastically. At the same time, we feel we can give you an assurance that the likelihood of a recurrence of the trouble is extremely remote, our checks and supervision on the assembly of starter batteries having been duplicated and augmented regardless of expense, in order to entirely obviate the risk of a complaint. You do not mention whether you wish us to send on additional separators, or how you overcome the omission of the separators in the cell examined. Again expressing our very sincere regret, We are, Yours faithfully, THE CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO. LTD. E C McKinnon Chief Engineer. | ||
