Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gryls. BY/Cgh.{W Clough} Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Ms. 202 RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/JMW.4/EMG.8.4.37. BENTLEY CHASSIS. G.100050 REAR WHEEL DRIVERS. With reference to your enquiry as to how soon we could introduce this job with a slight design alteration and the material to be altered to S/ZNCR GB.1383 please note as under.- [Handwritten note] Noted JMW Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Ms. would, after receipt of instructions from the D.O., require 6/8 weeks to obtain the necessary material. Works. would require 5 weeks after receipt of material. Assuming, therefore, that you could instruct the D.O. immediately, we could bring this job on production on the 175th chassis in 'K' Series, which is due to be sent to the Test Dept. week-ending July 31st. You will realise, from the above therefore, that there is no question of scrapping any of the existing parts in the Works. In fact, we shall have to make a matter of 50 sets out of the existing material to bring us up to the 174th chassis in 'K' Series. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/JMW. | ||
