+306 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. Wer.F.Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}Hdy.{William Hardy}RHO. SECRET. SpectreCodename for Phantom III - Rear Brake Linkage. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}/KW.13.6.35, we send herewith N.Sch.4540 shewing the idler lever restored to the rear foot brake linkage in order to raise the line of pull of the rear brake cable to a point above the centre of rotation of the axle. This centre of rotation is presumably lower on SpectreCodename for Phantom III than on Phantom, as the rear springs are lower. We can raise the cable to a point just above the top plate of the rear spring. This modification should be got on to any of the cars it is proposed to run. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
