TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to GJ. PY. 20.HP. SLIPPER FLYWHEEL. X.5300 (FAILURE IN FRANCE.) Regarding the broken bolt on the 20.HP., this was probably caused through difference of friction, or seizing between the two halves of the stiffer wheel. We want this to be impossible by dowelling the two halves, and increasing the clearance in the pressure bolts. (See drawing by E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} sent yesterday.)
