NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I MAGNETO.
It will be remembered that it was suggested here that the friction on the magneto should be removed, and a spring connected to the cam rocker or controlling bell crank, close to the magneto, sufficiently strong to hold the sleeve of the magneto from pulsating. This would be in the direction opposite to that in which it is driven.
It will be seen that the relay and connections will then have less to do. This spring will tend to bring the relay back to zero in the same direction as the spring on the relay, therefore the spring on the relay can probably be reduced.
On the car which went away from WW. on Monday last, there was something peculiar, as the hand control would not reach the contact to start the engine on the battery ignition - (flick start.) 46-PK.
