SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE. 27th December 1934. Messrs.Rolls Royce Ld, DERBY. Attention of Mr.Rowbotham. Dear Sirs, JACKALLS. The writer duly passed on your criticisms regarding the copper pipe fitting arrangements to our Jackall Fitting Manager who has replied as follows:- "I am in receipt of your memo of the 20th inst, and also impression of your letter to Messrs. Rolls Royce of the same date. I note your remarks, that Mr.Rowbotham adversely criticised the copper tube arrangements, which gives me the impression that he would like the copper tube secured in the same manner as that in which they secure their own copper pipes. This can easily be done if they will sanction our drilling their chassis for this purpose. As the set is installed at present we do not drill a single hole. It was very unfortunate that the fixing clips that secure the tube could not be found to enable us to complete the job because, if these are fitted properly it is a very satisfactory job and to my mind equally as good as drilling the chassis. We have not had a single complaint of the tube working loose. I would suggest that should we have to visit Derby any time in the near future, that we make a point of inspecting the 5-B-IV tubes to see if they have been securely connected. (Continued).. | ||
