BY/Ogh15/G11.8.32. In reply to your memo, we are not at all keen to continue supplying subframes, even though you may have the material in stock, as soon as the Works agree that they can be discontinued, presumably by the completion of the Standardisation Sheet.
It will be more economical to the Company to scrap the material than to use it up because there is always a certain amount of expense in despatching subframes to Coachbuilders, which we should avoid as soon as they are discontinued.
We are therefore prepared to do without subframes just as soon as you care to stop supplying them, but we realise it is a technical matter, and therefore the decision must of course come from the Works.
In conclusion, however, we do consider there would be an advantage in not building all the subframes necessary to complete N2 series. We will await your final decision on the matter, and possibly by that time you will be able to tell us with which chassis subframes will cease altogether.
