1280 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.2/WH. 11th. January 1938. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., Wolverhampton. For the attention of Mr.Dunn. Dear Sirs, Confirming the writer's conversation with Mr.Dunn and Mr.Royce during the former's visit last Friday, and over the telephone yesterday, we wish you to supply a number of Bentley radiator matrices(against our current order) in an untested condition. Actually the number which has now been decided on is 50 Bentley matrices (Mk.VI). Will you please mark these matrices clearly for for identification purposes by a horizontal band (say 1" wide) of blue paint on one of the side plates of each matrix. The writer has received your letter of 6th. inst. containing a copy of your letter of Dec.16th., which he has noted. In view of his discussion with Mr.Dunn here, further comments on your remarks on the question of finish etc. of radiator shutter sets is unnecessary. We are arranging to forward to you within the next day or so a Bentley radiator, less shutter assembly, to be used for a passing off rig for this sample shutter set, and also later for production sets. We enclose herewith, as arranged with Mr. Dunn, a list of the radiator matrices and oil coolers which have been returned to you for examination etc. and which, according to our records, have not been returned. If you can let us have any information as to their whereabouts or fate generally we would be grateful. | ||
