Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Robotham. Our Mr.Davey has informed us that you would require a pump with a larger output. We have not written you before as we have been carrying out a few experiments with this in view, and before going any further we should like to know approximately what output you require. We are now supplying a duplex pump to some of the commercial vehicle people and we enclose a blue print of the body of this herewith. With the exception of the mounting the chief differences are as follows. The inlet union is a 3/8" union and the petrol pours directly into the body and not via an annulus, as on your pumps. The foot valves are not spring loaded, but the lift of the valves is restricted by using a 15-thou thick washer under the valve cages, the bottoms of the cages being chamfered to give a knife edge, to prevent the valves from sticking to them. The inlet is another 3/8" gas union and comes out at the side. These pumps give an average of four to five gallons an hour more than your pumps on open delivery.
