Instrument Board Silver Ripplet .R.2.

Herewith we attach two prints of PL.149. which is an instrument board for the Silver Ripplet R.R.2. The design has been based on that of the Silver Ripple 1.R.1. and includes the modifications outlined by Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} when the Silver Rippie instrument board was discussed during a visit to Derby.

We appreciate that the whole subject of instrument board is a subject for design investigation, but we are forced to give Messrs. Park Ward & Co. the design of instrument board for the existing instruments in order to get the car on the road.

We indicate a tray for small tools under the locker in the instrument board as designed and fitted up by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/F.{Mr Friese} and he will have to supply Messrs. Park Ward & Co. with a complete set of tools together with photographs of his layout.

We asked Messrs. Park Ward & Co. to provide a cigar lighter with a handle that will match the knob of the rheostat, the cigar handle should be black.

So far we agree that the lighting of the instruments from the scuttle rail has not been executed satisfactorily, although we have supplied Messrs. Park Ward & Co. with a drawing showing how this should be carried out. We shall have to leave the supervision of this matter in the hands of Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/PL.

We have shown a push pull switch for the interior lighting, but we are now informed that such a switch is not required on the instrument board and that it is usually fixed on the offside centre pillar.

We are asking Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/HH. to make immediately a detail drawing of this board and forward us over and above the normal prints for filing, one print of the detail and one of PL.149.
