- Johnson, Esq.,
Messrs. Vandervell Products Ltd.,
Western Avenue,
Park Royal, W.3.

Dear Mr. Johnson,

You will note, under separate cover, Mr. Swindall has written you about some 2.75 inner diameter main bearings for our engine.

I do not know whether you happen to have any tools to enable you to produce these bearings, but I believe that if we could get this particular size we should obtain sufficient additional area on the intermediate bearings to overcome the trouble which we experienced on our last standardisation test. I feel that we need this additional area, even though there may be a better material coming along, because we can see ways and means of increasing our horsepower output by anything up to 20% within the next 12 months.

At the same time we may be able to increase the width of the intermediate bearing by 1/8", but we believe that this would not cause any difficulty with regard to tools.

Yours sincerely,
