X235 DJ. c. Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY2/H. 19.5.26. SHOCK DAMPERS. (HYDRAULIC TYPE) -------------------------------- The Experimental Dept. have expressed themselves as satisfied with the above in the form tried out on the 20 HP. chassis in France for 10,000 miles. R. {Sir Henry Royce} has specified stronger bolts in driven levers with spherical seatings, which can only be an improvement. These are being incorporated. These dampers are urgently required for 20 HP. front axle with medium pressure tyres, and are essential to 40/50 HP. axle with similar wheels and tyres or new light axle proposed for the 40/50 HP. chassis. I suggest we can at once, in order to get tools and equipment forward as well as dies and forgings, order 200 pairs of the above. The Standardization Sheet is not yet circulated, but is being issued at once, and the position justifies this recommendation which is being pressed by me for Wor {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 's approval.
