.................

The pitting is similar to those on 21 G IV at the finish of the test, colour of bearings was a darkish blue.

CYLINDER HEAD

The numbers 3 & II Exhaust Valves had picked up about I inch from the under cut of the stem. The sticking open was due to a skin deposit of hard carbon. The seating of the Valves had distorted slightly, but came up good bedding with light grinding. The seating in the head were good. The remaining Valves were in a good condition, also seatings in Cylinder head, with the exception of No 2 which was pitted. There was no sign of hammering of the seats.

IGNITION PLUGS.

The gaps had increased to .025 " from .020 ". These have been reset to .020 ".

We have brought the Car up to the Paris Depot to get the comparisons of rear road Springs, Standard Cylinder head, Standard front Axle.

We shall be here for four or five days.

RADIATOR.

So far the cooling efficency is adequate. We are running without a fan, as it means dismantling the Cylinder block to drill out for 5/16 studs.

We may be able to get this done while we are in Paris.
