Upon testing the magneto on the rig however we found the magneto to be noisy and the low speed sparking very poor in comparison with other figures obtained on Lucas and Watford magnetos of this type, the figures being:-

155 r.p.m. advance. 210 r.p.m. retard.

The figures are worse because of the use of tungsten points and jump spark distributor.

The figures obtained when this magneto was new were:-

115 r.p.m. advance.
205 " retard.
