The plain glass with the reflectors stuck on instead of drilling the glass has been quite satisfactory. There is no outward indication to show the different method. The instruments have given no trouble, the speedometer has not failed. The Feranti Ammeter has not shown any defects.

STARTER MOTOR to LOP D.51632

The starter motor after the fitting of a stronger spring was considerably better. It slipped when starting up with engine very cold and gummy on one occasion. We are dealing with this failure as this particular starter had got very polished friction plates.

BODYWORK BY PARK WARD.

The body generally as remained in a good condition. The faults are, the doors have dropped which has allowed the beadings to chatter. The hinges became very tight and could not be freed. The windows rattled, they appeared to be cut too small for the guides. There is a lost movement in the winding apparatus. The front wing broke away from the running board and cracked, stone guards fell off. The rear wings remained securely fastened. Paint chipped off in several places.

INDIA TYRES 31 X 6.

We found that when the India tyres were fitted the car rode harder, especially the front. We therefore reduced the tyre pressures from 35 lbs. to 30 lbs. This gave much better riding and equal to Dunlop's. There is no difference in the life of the tyres. We have checked up our tyre mileages for the last five years and found that the average life of the rear was 7,500 miles, these India tyres gave the same result. We could not detect any difference in the steering with the use of these tyres. The road holding qualities were very good until the tread had worn smooth.
We attach herewith a chart, showing an average day's run of Water, Oil, and Air temperatures.

Total Weight of Car .............. 35 cwt 1 qr. 0 lbs.

Average Petrol Consumption....... 13.84 M.P.G.
