Dear Mr. Swindall,

I wish to acknowledge, with thanks, receipt of your letter of the 22nd October. I had already received one valve from you; do I understand that the two you have sent are extra to this one? As soon as these valves come to hand I will send them to our laboratory in Detroit for their remarks and examination.

The valve steel, the analysis of which you give in your letter, is, I presume, the successful Silchrome No.1 material which Mr. Robotham told me about. The specification appears to be up to the standard of a good Silchrome No.1.

Again many thanks for writing me on this matter,

Yours sincerely,
