X4266 To DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to C.J. [Illegible text] * EPC. E2/G17/3/21. X.4266 RE "GOSHAWK II" - PETROL TANK. We send you herewith drawing No. LeC.1367 shewing a design of petrol tank based on the method of pressing in two halves as suggested by Mr. Foy, and as used on some American chassis. The dimensions given on LeC.1367 are not those that will be actually used for "Goshawk II", since Mr.Royce now proposes to enlarge the tank from ten gallons to twelve gallons, but Mr. Royce would like you to send a blue print of this drawing to Mr. Foy and get his opinion of the practicability of the shape for pressing purposes. The final tank will be sent in due course.
