To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from EFC. X3839 EFC1/T8.6.26. X. 3839 - THREADED RUBBER SEPARATORS FOR BATTERIES. We have now a complete P & R battery with threaded rubber separators and a complete Exide battery with threaded rubber separators. Tests of these separators would be more valuable if they are rendered strictly comparative. For this purpose we should like you to obtain for us three present standard Exide cells and three present standard P & R cells. Three similar sandwich batteries can then be made up with an equal distribution of Exide and P & R threaded rubber cells and Exide and P & R standard cells. This is an experiment on modifications to our present standard cells, with a view to improving the charging characteristics and the regulation of system voltage on chassis, and as such is considered a reasonable experiment in spite of the desire to keep down the expense of experimental work.
