at the moment that you cannot extend this recommendation further than Messrs. Wakefield's Hi-Press for the reasons given to the writer, but as and when, with the incorporation of aluminium washers, you can be assured that the Hypoid type of oil can be used, and we thank you for agreeing to incorporate our Shell Hypoid Oil for this purpose.

Omitting, therefore, any reference to axle oils at the moment, we should be glad if you could incorporate the following as your recommendations so far as Shell lubricating oils are concerned:-

Engine
Summer 30 (i.e. Double Shell(Medium))
Winter 20 (i.e. Single Shell(Light))

Gear Box
50 (i.e. Triple Shell (Heavy))
or (and preferably)
Golden Shell (Extra Heavy).

Chassis, Oil Pump Engine Oil
Steering Box Shell Spirax Gear Oil
Hydraulic Shock Dampers Single Shell (Light)
Universal Joints Shell Retinax Grease
Wheel Hub Shells Shell Retinax Grease
Water Pump Shell W.P. Grease.

We shall be interested to have your comments on the forgoing and confirmation that in the instruction book at present in print and future issues of both Rolls-Royce and Bentley Books, the abovementioned will be contained.

Yours faithfully,
For SHELL-MEX AND B.P.LTD.
