Hsl/AD20. 5. 31 contd. -3- Road Springs. These will be the low rating type which have been standardised and fitted to all L.H. cars. Dynamo. This will be the latest type with no tape on the armature coils and more conductors per slot. The two charge scheme will be fitted. Starter Motor. This will have self-lubricating bushes and the central oiling dis-connected with the object of overcoming the complaints we have had in winter time owing to conjealed oil. Battery Ignition. It is proposed to use smaller capacity condenser with the object of improving the life of the low tension contact points. This has been run many thousand miles on other cars and has given promising results. Shackles. It is suggested that we could, during this test, try out threaded type shackles which have been used very successfully on Springfield R.R. cars. Exhaust System. At the present time we are using staybrite pipes on the exhaust system which is very expensive and not altogether satisfactory, but on this test we propose to use mild steel pipes, fescolized, this being used successfully on aero engine manifolds. The car that we intend to use for this test is 25-EX which is a left-hand car but is the most suitable we have available to send to France. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
