Mr. M.H. Sharpe,
Driver to F.T. Fisher Esq.,
The Paddock Garage,
Westmorland Road,
Maidenhead.

Dear Sir,

With reference to your letter of August 7th.
Mr. Fisher's car, 46-RE, was originally fitted with springs suitable for a 10 cwt. body, 7 passengers, 1cwt. luggage, and the usual spares, in accordance with the specification which was originally conveyed to us when building the chassis.

As you state, when the car was at the works and when the new type springs were fitted, in view of the information supplied by you to the effect that the maximum number of passengers carried was four, without luggage, we fitted springs which were tested and passed as satisfactory for this load.

We understand from your letter that it is not considered that the fitting of the new type springs, suitable for the revised load, have materially improved either the trouble of the passengers being jerked in the seats when the car is going at fair speed, or the bumping noise when turning corners. We can confidently state that we have had no previous complaints in this direction when the new type roller plates have been fitted to cure the bumping noise, and the latest type springs fitted to cure [strikethrough] the excessive movement [strikethrough].
[Handwritten correction below 'cure': reduce]
[Handwritten correction below 'movement': spring flexibility]

With regard to the springs squeaking - are you perfectly satisfied that the squeaking actually emanates
