good condition. The valve packings had again collapsed, the steel cups being choc-a-bloc. We have instructed these to be made with more material in them and compressed harder.

Valve Springs.

There are no signs of failure.

Low Inertia Spring Drive.

The poundage has remained consistent. There was no carbon sludge deposit on the inner side. The drain holes drilled for this purpose have proved to be efficient. The stronger driving springs have not taken up any permanent set.

Clutch.

The condition of the fabrics is very good, with no sign of spreading. The cutting off of the automatic lubrication has kept the fabrics free from oil. The lubrication of the clutch spigot had been ample.

Synchro Mesh Gearbox.

The general condition of the gears, bearings, spline shafts, is very good. The wear of the pedal shaft housing was very little during this test.

Propeller Shaft.

The condition of the mechanics joints is remarkably good, with no sign of any wear or scoring. The increasing of the propeller shaft to 3" diameter is most probably very helpful in lessening wear or chatter of the universal bearings.

Front Road Springs. (Rolled Eyes).

The lubrication of the two front springs is fairly even and has been ample, there are only two leaves which have become dry at the extreme tips.

Rear Road Springs (Rolled Eyes).

The lubrication of the rear springs is good. The rear portions were black, dirt having penetrated through the leather covers.

Radiator.

There was no deposit in the radiator. The bakelite mounting on the N.S. had again broken in two pieces, one half being lost. The dermatine joint of the outlet pipe had become squeezed out, partially blocking up the dis. of the outlet.
